Carmen Debut at Operahouse Cologne, 23rd of May!

On May 23rd, Katrin is celebrating her debut as Carmen at the Cologne Opera. One of the most popular and widely acclaimed operas – staged by renowned director Christof Loy. Once more the mezzosoprano shows her extensive vocal repertoire and various acting abilities to the Cologne audience.

In this Opéra-comique by Georges Bizet Katrin performs the title-role Carmen, a femme fatale whose men are falling for her but finally deciding her tragical fortune. Katrin shows furthermore her wide range of performing skills – from teasing  to refusing – she sincerely shows the complex character of Carmen. Moreover her grand vocal variety alters from the brightness of Opéra-Comique-soprano to the rich colors of Grand Opéra-Mezzo.
